Before launching Elevate Vacation Homes, Billy was a middle school teacher in San Diego with no background in property management and no clients—just a strong work ethic, people skills, and a desire to build something of his own.
Teaching sharpened his ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, stay calm under pressure, and solve problems in real time—skills that translated naturally into hospitality and operations. Starting with his own properties as a "solo-preneur", this required around the clock answering of guest messages, coordinating cleanings, and learning the short-term rental business through hands-on experience rather than shortcuts. Each client was earned through trust, performance, and referrals. Over time, systems replaced guesswork: standardized processes, vetted vendors, financial tracking, and owner-first reporting.
Today, Elevate Vacation Homes manages over 50 properties, but the foundation remains the same—high standards, accountability, and relationships built on transparency. What began as a leap from the classroom has grown into a scalable, professional management company, proving that disciplined execution and consistency can turn zero clients
into a thriving portfolio.
